Interactive Elements - CTMH Technique Blog Hop

I'm sure this month's Technique Blog Hop will be fun! You may have arrived from Darlys Recker's blog, if so, just keep following the links from blog to blog until you wind up back where you started. If you get lost or find any broken links, Melissa has the complete list. If you just stumbled in, WELCOME! and enjoy what we are sharing for July: Interactive Elements!

I'm not one to think outside of the box, so I started by playing with the Card Front Spinner Thin Cut and the I Chews You set that I won!! during one of the FREE events that Close To My Heart provides on their corporate Facebook page

After I got the idea of how a spinner card works (fairly easy, and the die set comes with directions), I selected the beautiful new Isabella paper pack and the versatile Just A Note stamp set to create my card. I was going to use the "thinking of you" sentiment from this set also, but ended up going with the one from Hillside Cottage - Cardmaking instead because it didn't required any extra manipulation to fit in the window.  It also gave me the idea to use some stamped images on the spinner instead of just sentiments. DUH!!

Note:  The spinner can be at the top or bottom of a standard size card. Mine is at the bottom, with the turner on the left. It's really easy to place your images on the spinner wheel because there are little marks on the die that make tiny dents on your paper so that you can see to space everything perfectly.

I used Bluebird cardstock and ink which is one of the colors featured in the Isabella paper pack. For the direction stamps, I used Evergreen ink. The spinner wheel paper is a watercolor-like Peach from the current Mix-In pack.

Don't forget that when making spinner cards you will need brads and foam tape!  The ribbon on my card is a retired Organza CTMH carried years ago. I finally got another load of boxes moved across the country! It's not unpacked yet, of course, but the box was open and there was ribbon at just the right time! Instead of tying the ribbon around the entire card front, I used my little ribbon trick and attached it to the back with Glue Dots. I was concerned that the ribbon would interfere with the spinner, but I'm no longer convinced it would have been an issue.
